Attracted to the colors, single-use plastic has evolved into a useful material in my jewelry line. Why not use all this plastic we are surrounded by one more time? This pair of earrings were originally part of a vitamin bottle. I cut drops, punched a hole to attach and you get a colorful weightless pair of earrings. The ear wire is sterling silver, sterling silver wire makes up all the attachments, and Japanese seed beads add a little lime color pop.

Why the cost when using single use plastic? I cut the plastic to shape (it is not precut), I file the edges so they are smooth against the skin, and I punch holes in the individual pieces for attachment. As you can see, as much goes into each plastic element as the metal pieces in any jewelry. Although the plastic is out of the recycle bin there is the time, labor, and skill attached to the plastic so I can give you a beautiful piece of jewelry.
